An inquisitive girl and her mischievous older brother join forces with their Tooth Fairy-in-training aunt to take on nighttime adventures and nonbelievers.
A half-hour family teleplay.
Monica Furman explores and defines the origins of her community's hybrid identity through multimedia content to increase authentic representation of Ukrainian and Jewish diasporic people in America. Growing up on the precipice of assimilation and multiculturalism (shout out to first-generation Americans), she brandishes humor, multiple languages, and strong female characters to address xenophobia, bridging generational gaps and cultural differences with progressive values.
Her process includes digging through primary sources, getting lost in academic articles, and recording her family during dinner to bake everything into digestible and funny stories inspired by immigration patterns and the class divide. Using performance, film & television, and podcast productions, Monica creates accessible stories for multi-generational families to consume together.
